A Nurse’s Journey Virtual Summit

May 27th – June 9th, 2025

Hosted by Julie Atkinson, RN | Founder of New Life New Legacy

A Nurse’s Journey Virtual Summit is a 14-day online gathering created and hosted by Julie Atkinson, RN — a fellow nurse, author, mentor, and founder of New Life New Legacy.

This summit was born from a place of deep respect and love for the nursing profession. It brings together 28 incredible voices — nurses, leaders, and healers — who have walked their own challenging paths in healthcare and are showing up now to share their stories, their wisdom, and their hearts.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to care deeply, to lead with compassion, and to find ourselves again in a profession that often asks us to give so much. Through honest conversations and supportive tools, this summit is here to help you reconnect with your purpose, nurture your well-being, and remember: you are never alone in this journey.

Whether you’re a brand-new nurse or decades into your career, I hope you’ll join us. You matter. Your story matters. And you are so needed.

Kim English

Nursing Professor/Consultant | The Wellness Shift

Kim is a Doctoral candidate who has taught nurses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels since 2002. Her pedagogical praxis draws from her clinical experiences in acute care and professional practice, her lived experiences in rural health, and her work with Indigenous communities. For over 25 years, she has taught nurses and nursing students the importance of leadership and advocacy and, more importantly, how to use their voices. Kim’s narrative-informed research explores the work of rural and remote nurses, celebrating their innovation and leadership. Her work draws from the social sciences and humanities. As a settler, she is privileged to learn with and from many Indigenous nurses, elders, and colleagues, which informs an anti-colonial lens on her understanding of context and health. This is important as she addresses issues in providing nursing education using virtual simulations, and the impact of inclusive, anti-racist and anti-oppressive approaches to teaching.
